OTC Meds Needed for Guatemala
We take lots of over-the-counter medicines with us to Guatemala - the kind of stuff that we have at home in our medicine cabinets. If you are able to buy a few of these things and donate them to the mission, please bring them to the church office and give them to David Lucas. Thank you!
Ibuprofen tablets, 200mg; Tylenol (acetaminophen) tablets, 500mg; Children's Chewable Multivitamins; Children's Gummies Multivitamins; Adult Multivitamins; Pre-natal vtamins; Zantac (ranitidine) tablets 150mg; Tums; Hydrocortisone cream in small tubes; Triple antibiotic cream in small tubes; anti-fungal cream (like Lotrimin AF); Selsun Blue shampoo; Visine eye drops; reader eyeglasses of various strengths and sunglasses for people of all ages. *Please no liquid or gel capsules of any kind.

We are planning another Homebound Visitation for Tuesday, July 11. If you would like to make some visits, or if you know someone who would benefit from a visit and encouraging word, please contact Paula Cooper and let her know. We will meet in the coffee bar area at the church at 9:30am, Tuesday, July 11. NOTE: We will make visits to the Homebound on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Plan ahead; this is a wonderful way to serve.
Wednesday Worship, begins June 14
Join us at 6:00pm on Wednesday evenings this summer as we pause from the busyness of life to rest in and refocus on Jesus. Wednesday Worship will meet in the sanctuary at 6:00pm beginning Wednesday, June 14.
Student Ministry Indoor Rock Climbing, June 14
Students in grades 6-12 will travel to Highpoint Climbing on Wednesday, June 14 for an evening of Indoor Rock Climbing. We will meet at the church at 6:15pm and return at 9:30pm. The cost for the evening is $20. If your student plans to participate, please fill out an online waiver by clicking here.
SERVE OPPORTUNITY: Strong Tower Church
These are the remaining dates for the Montgomery outreach. They are the 3rd Saturday of each month, June - October. The events will be held in different housing communities, but the dates and times, 10:00am - 1:00pm, are set. If you are interested in serving in this way, please contact John or Karen Ott or Wesley Braswell.
Young at Heart & The Warblers Club, Monday, June 19
Senior adults, you are invited to a special performance by The Warblers Club, in the sanctuary, on Monday, June 19 at 11:00am. A complimentary lunch will be provided after the performance. Reserve your lunch by signing up in your Bible Study Group or by calling the church office at 969-1236.
STUDENT MINISTRY BEACH RETREAT, JUNE 19-23.
The Student Ministry is headed to the beach this summer! Students in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in an inspirational and fun time at Laguna Beach Retreat in Panama City, Florida from Monday, June 19 through Friday, June 23. To sign up, please download a brochure by clicking here, complete the brochure, and return the brochure along with a $100 deposit to Wesley Braswell by Wednesday, May 24. Metro/World Changers are Coming!
On Sunday, June 25, a team of Metro/World Changers will kickoff their week in Birmingham by worshiping with us and having lunch after the service. Beginning Monday, June 26, we will provide lunch for the work crew each day through Thursday and deliver it to them at their jobsite. We will need volunteers, either Bible Study Groups, individuals or other groups to provide and deliver the food on each of those days. Someone from the church staff will go along with the group every day. Furnishing food is easy; perhaps a sandwich, chips, fruit, water and Gatorade, etc. Contact David Lucas in the church office to reserve a day for this fun, easy and quick, yet meaningful mission effort.
Student Ministry Six Flags Trip, June 28Join us for a day of fun at Six Flags Over Georgia on Wednesday, June 28. We will meet at the church at 7:00am and return to the church at 10:30pm. The cost for the trip is $35 per student. Students will also need money for two meals in the park. To sign your student up, please contact Wesley Braswell.
Student Ministry Trip to the Barons Game, July 12
Students in grades 6-12 will travel to Regions Field to watch the Birmingham Barons play the Mobile Bay Bears on Wednesday, July 12. We will leave the church at 6:00pm and return to the church at 10:30pm. The cost is $15 per student. Students will also need money for any food they would like to purchase while at the ballgame.
Student Ministry Trip to Tim Hawkins Concert, July 14
Are you ready for a night filled with laughter? If so, join us for the Tim Hawkins Concert at the BJCC Concert Hall on Friday, July 14. The cost for the concert is $25 per person.
Student Ministry Sardines, July 19
Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join us as we play Sardines at the church. If you've never played Sardines before, it is like hide and go seek but with a buddy and a lot of fun. We will begin at 6:00pm and conclude at 8:30pm.
Student Ministry Scavenger Hunt, July 26
On Wednesday, July 26, we will meet at the church at 5:30pm, split into groups, and then head out to search for clues to complete the Scavenger Hunt. We will conclude our evening at the church at 7:30pm.
Student Ministry Guys Paintball Adventure, July 28
Guys, join us for a day of action and adventure as we travel to McCalla to play paintball. We will leave the church at 9:00am and return at 2:00pm. The cost is $35 per person. Students will also need money for lunch. If your student plans to participate, please fill out an online waiver here.
Student Ministry Laser Tag, August 2
Students in grades 6-12 will travel to the Laser Combat Center to play Laser Tag on Wednesday, August 2. We will leave the church at 8:15pm and return to the church at 10:45pm. The cost for the evening is $20. If your student plans to participate, please fill out an online waiver here.
