We are planning another Homebound Visitation for Tuesday, September 12. If you would like to make some visits, or if you know someone who would benefit from a visit and encouraging word, please contact Paula Cooper and let her know. We will meet in the coffee bar area at the church at 9:30am, Tuesday, September 12.  NOTE: We will make visits to the Homebound on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Plan ahead; this is a wonderful way to serve.

Neighborhood Prayer Walk, September 24, 4:30pm

As our church seeks the new pastor that God has for us, we have been encouraged to pray for that man and for clarity in finding him.  The Serve Team has been convicted to extend our petitions to include prayer for our community.  We want to invite you to join the Serve Team and meet at LPBC at 4:30pm on September 24, to prayer walk in the neighborhood.

New Wednesday Night Series for Adults-"Counter Culture" begins September 13

The Bible is clear on a number of issues:
•    Who God is - the holy, just, and gracious Creator of the universe
•    Who we are - men and women created in the image of God for our good and for God's glory
•    Who Christ is and what He has done - His life, death, and resurrection
•    What it means to follow Christ - to die to ourselves and to live in Him
•    Why this matters for eternity - heaven and hell are at stake in our response to the gospel
So how do these truths affect how we respond to the social issues of our day - realities such as poverty, slavery, abortion, sexual immorality, the degradation of marriage, the neglect of orphans and widows, racism, and persecution?

In this six-week video series, David Platt teaches that the truths of the gospel should compel us to a contrite, compassionate, and courageous personal response to social issues in the culture. There will be a cost to follow Christ.  There will be a reward.  Do Christians in the contemporary church have the courage to counter the culture?

Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm in Room 216 as we seek to understand how we can shine the light of Christ in our current culture.  There is no cost for this study.

Flu Shots Clinic

Our church will soon be hosting a Flu Clinic for persons 8 years of age and older. If you have medical insurance there will be an opportunity to submit your info online before the clinic. Upon arrival at the clinic you can simply get your injection and leave. You can also present your info on the day of the clinic. If you simply want to get a flu shot and pay for it, we have received a discounted price of $25.
When:  Sunday, September 24
Where: outside of the church office
Time: 8:00 to 10:30AM
Remember, the flu vaccine is free with most insurances. The vaccine will NOT give you the flu or make you sick. This is the only flu shot you will need for the entire year. It takes about two weeks after the injection to achieve maximum immunity.
